Farewell Juan Pablo
When writing an earlier article about Juan Pablo Montoya moving to NASCAR next season, I cheekily titled it Montoya Leaves Formula One.. It was a spin on words to get people thinking he left immediately. Unfortunately, today’s news reports confirm this is in fact true!  Pedro de la Rosa will replace Juan Pablo Montoya at the next championship round in France.
This is such a sad way for such a great personality to leave Formula One. I’m sure a lot of tickets for the Brazilian Grand Prix would be in the hands of Colombians hoping Juan Pablo could finish his career at McLaren like he did at Williams (with a win in Brazil). They won’t get to say goodbye to their hero now.
It’s strange because even though he didn’t get too far in the Canadian Grand Prix, Juan looked very racey there, with shades of his old-self. Surely he could have had at least a few more races this season? Instead we’ll be left with the memory of him causing a huge accident at the first corner of the Indianapolis Grand Prix…
Sad…
