Renault to Leave F1

Hans-Joachim Stuck, a former German GP driver, believes Renault may withdraw from Formula One at the end of the Concorde agreement. He said, “It looks like Renault will stop the F1 programme in a year or two.”
This would certainly explain the shock announcement that Fernando Alonso will drive for McLaren in 2007. Renault certainly does seem to be a company that likes to enter and exit F1 periodically but would they go to the trouble of investing in their own team and then withdraw so quickly? I hope not..
Maybe they can come back as Nissan?
